Sae-A Trading’s ESG Division Head, Sonia Lee, spoke at the ‘2nd Sustainable Textile Conference,’ where she shared key strategies for addressing the climate crisis in the textile and fashion industries. Hosted by Control Union Korea, the conference gathered over 200 participants, including domestic and international policymakers, global brand representatives, industry leaders, and certification bodies, under the theme of “Creating a Sustainable Value Ecosystem.”

During her presentation, Lee introduced Sae-A Trading’s achievement as the first Korean apparel manufacturer to receive Net-Zero target approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). She highlighted the company’s efforts to reduce Scope 1 to 3 emissions across its global supply chain spanning more than 10 countries, including Guatemala and Vietnam.
“ESG is no longer a choice, but a regulatory obligation,” she emphasized, noting that even in developing country operations, Sae-A Trading rigorously implements reduction protocols and transition ratios to phase out coal usage.
